Woollahra Council’s vision is to be a thriving, inclusive, sustainable and resilient community that will benefit future generations. To help achieve this vision, Woollahra Council provides grants and sponsorships to support businesses, associations, community groups and not-for-profits. Placemaking Grants

Our Placemaking Grants program is about supporting business to enhance the experience of visitors to our shopping and commercial areas and contribute to them being vital public destinations. Placemaking Grants provide funding of up to $7,500.

These include but are not limited to projects and activities which complement our own services and identified priorities in the areas of community focused economic development. Examples may include:

  • Public art projects
  • Promotion of shopping and commercial areas
  • Rejuvenation of shop fronts
  • Footpath displays, trading and dining
  • Activating vacant shop fronts
  • Footpath theatre - musical/theatrical

Business Sector Support Grants

Our Business Sector Support Grants supports projects and programs by organisations (including business chambers) that have an ABN and carry out the following activities:

  • Supports local businesses and economic development in the Woollahra LGA.
  • Markets and promotes local businesses in the Woollahra LGA.
  • Facilitates educational workshops and seminars, information sharing, business training, and regular networking opportunities.
  • Attracts trade, talent, new businesses and investment into Woollahra LGA.

Grants are available of up to $10,000 per Business Sector Support organisation. The amount of funding provided will depend on the individual merits of the funding request.

The merits of funding requests will be influenced by proposed economic benefits of intended activities.
