Temporary Closure : From 1 March 2022, Shark Beach, the promenade and restaurant/kiosk at Nielsen Park will be closed. The closure is happening so that NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service can replace the seawall, which has been in place for nearly 100 years. The beach is expected to reopen by mid-December 2024, pending weather conditions.

Parsley Bay Swimming Enclosure

Announcement : As part of Sydney Water’s Refresh Vaucluse and Diamond Bay project, the Parsley Bay Reserve car park and vehicle access to Horler Avenue will be CLOSED from 29 May 2024 to late 2026. Pedestrian access to Parsley Bay Reserve and the swimming area will be available via the existing access tracks from Fitzwilliam Road and The Crescent. Construction commenced mid-2024.
