Support to go solar

Our Environmental Sustainability Action Plan has set ambitious targets for reducing emissions, to ensure Woollahra becomes a cleaner, greener and even more beautiful place to live, work and visit.

Solar power plays a critical role in achieving this goal, which is why we are supporting local organisations to install solar through our Solar My Suburb program, a free initiative helping to save money on energy bills and protect our environment.

The Royal Australian Naval Sailing Association in Darling Point is one of nine local clubs and community organisations we have already helped to go solar, reducing its energy bill by 40%. For more information on everything we are doing as part of the Plan and resources for installing solar at homes and businesses, visit Environment.

Digital Literary Award call for entries

Visit Digital Literary Award for further details.

Book in for whale watching

Our whale watching walks are back for winter. Join us at Macquarie Lighthouse on 30 June or 14 July for a guided whale spotting walk and talk along the cliffs between Lighthouse Reserve in Vaucluse and Gap Park in Watsons Bay.

You'll learn all about the history of whaling in Australia and the natural and cultural heritage of the Vaucluse area. Bring along your binoculars if you have them and be sure to get in quick as these events are always popular and guaranteed to sell out.

Visit Whale watching to reserve your spot.
