Grant recipients announced

Woollahra Council has awarded community organisations, schools, businesses and individuals from across the Woollahra Local Government Area a total of $260,000 in funding through our 2024-25 Grants Program.

The Program supports projects that work towards a connected, liveable, creative and sustainable community, with funding available in the categories of Community and Cultural, Environmental, Placemaking and Business Sector Support.

The 52 successful recipients will use the funding to develop projects including initiatives supporting sustainability in schools, increasing mental wellbeing in the community, delivering green energy to community organisations, youth-led community events and connecting local businesses.

Congratulations to all recipients, and thank you for the commitment you have made to benefit our community. I am delighted that we have been able to provide funding support for your projects, and look forward to the positive impact they will have over the coming year.

Visit Grants for details on all successful recipients and further information on the Grants Program.

Get up close to migrating whales

We have installed two sets of whale watching binoculars on the Vaucluse cliffs, just in time for whale migration season.

They are free to use and are located at Jacobs Ladder and the south end of Christison Park, and can be used to get a closer look at the migrating whales as well as our diverse birdlife.

The binoculars are accompanied by comprehensive signage to provide more information about humpback whales and their migration patterns. Enjoy!
