Message from the Mayor - 30 April 2025

Remembering our Anzacs
It was wonderful to see so many community members at our Anzac Day wreath laying ceremony held at the Double Bay cenotaph in Steyne Park on Friday 25 April.
Congratulations to the Anzac Day Writing Competition winning students Alexander He and Freya MacKay and two Highly Commended Award recipients Harry Martin and Jodi Freilikh.
I was incredibly moved by the personal histories and emotive imagery submitted by our young students. Their words carry the spirit of remembrance, respect, and reflection. By honouring the legacy of the Anzacs, they honour Australia and the Woollahra community and are the voices through which their stories and our shared history live.

The Mayor with one of the winning students, Alexander He.
Have your say on the future of Cooper Park
Thank you to everyone who made submissions during our community consultation last year on Cooper Park, which is one of Woollahra’s most important open spaces. To help us manage the Park over the next 10-15 years, we asked what you love about the park, how you use it, and how you’d like it to be used in the future.
We used your ideas to help shape our new draft Cooper Park Masterplan and Plan of Management and we'd love your feedback by Friday 6 June.
