Message from the Mayor - 27 November 2024
Published on 27 November 2024
Welcome to our new citizens
Woollahra Council’s final citizenship ceremonies for 2024 were held last week at Council Chambers in Double Bay, and were the first at which I have had the honour of conferring citizenship as Mayor of Woollahra.
It is an absolute privilege to share such an important occasion with our residents, and a wonderful opportunity to learn about their backgrounds and welcome them to our community. Our new citizens came to us from 18 different countries – a great example of the diversity in our local area.
Congratulations on this significant step in your lives.
Double Bay Christmas Festival
Whether you're searching for the perfect Christmas gift, planning a family day out or simply looking to enjoy some festive entertainment in one of Sydney's most beautiful settings, Steyne Park in Double Bay is the place to be this Saturday 30 November.
Woollahra Council is a proud supporter of the Double Bay Christmas Festival, a free community celebration which will run from 11am to 8pm and feature over 100 market stalls offering unique gifts, artisanal products and festive treats, gourmet food and refreshments, plus a petting zoo, face painting and Santa photos.
From 6.30pm, a Christmas concert will include entertainment by Hugh Sheridan, Paulini, Chris Sebastian, and the Diamanté Duo, culminating in a dazzling fireworks display over Double Bay.
