Technology Help
Tech Connect Express
Need help with your phone, tablet, computer, or other devices? Book a free one-on-one technology assistance session with Woollahra Libraries' volunteers. Whether you're a senior or someone with little digital experience, our Tech Connect Express service is here to help you develop the skills and confidence to use your devices effectively.
You can bring your own device or use our library computers, depending on what you'd like to learn. To make the most of your session, we encourage you to come prepared with specific questions or a clear idea of what you want to learn, such as setting up email, navigating eBay, or downloading eBooks.
Limited spaces available, bookings are essential. See our Events Calendar or sign up to our eNewsletter for upcoming dates.
Tech at Ascham
Tech at Ascham is a free, weekly digital technology training program which runs for 5-7 weeks, offering personalised learning for people aged 55+ at Ascham School.
The course runs quarterly during each School Term, and we ask participants to commit to all sessions. This allows participants to take full advantage of the program and minimises disruption to students.
Tuition is provided on a one-on-one basis by high school students under teacher supervision. The program offers participants an introduction to computer skills or digital skills development and we recommend you bring your own device (such as laptops, tablets, phones).
Please note you must be a resident of the Woollahra Local Government Area to participate in this program and preference is given to first-time attendees.
Topics may include
- Introduction to computer skills
- Creating and managing an email account
- Google searches and tools
- Online databases and finding services for Seniors
- Social media (limited)
- Uploading photos from your camera to the computer
- Applications (for iPads)
