Paddington Library - sparking curiosity for 130 years
In May 1892, Paddington Council opened a library in the new Paddington Town Hall. For more than 130 years, this library has been a community cornerstone, celebrating its milestone anniversary on 11 May 2022. Launched during the National Trust's Heritage Festival 2022 with the theme "Curiosity," this online exhibition explored the history of Paddington Town Hall and Library.

The exhibition showcased images and stories from the library's founding in 1892, highlighting the important role of early librarians and the evolution of the library through significant eras, including the Frank Green Library period (1952-1977) and the bohemian 1960s. In April 2022, we also collected stories from library members about their cherished memories and the library’s impact on their lives.
