For our last session of the year, we’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Bruce Forster, a valued regular of the Men’s Chat Group, as our special guest speaker. Bruce will share his fascinating insights on Earth Observation with Satellite Remote Sensing and Imaging Radar Technology - a field where he has made groundbreaking contributions.

About Dr. Bruce Forster: Dr. Forster is a highly accomplished expert with an impressive career spanning academia, research, and consultancy. Formerly a Professor and Visiting Professorial Fellow at UNSW’s Faculty of Engineering, he co-founded the Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS and served as President of the Remote Sensing Association of Australia.

As the Managing Director of Asia-Pacific Remote Sensing, Bruce has spearheaded research, training, and application projects that have significantly advanced spatial information and remote sensing, particularly across the Asia-Pacific.

With degrees from the University of Melbourne, University of Reading, and a PhD from UNSW, Bruce’s expertise includes urban mapping using satellite imagery, and he continues to contribute to the field as a member of the GIS, Analytics, and Remote Sensing Committee of the Geospatial Council of Australia.

His exceptional achievements have been recognized globally, including being awarded Member of the Order of Australia in 2009, numerous international accolades, and a Fellowship with the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
