Explore Project Restore - A Night With The Researchers
The Sydney Institute of Marine Science is hosting a public information session about its flagship multi habitat restoration initiative - Project Restore at the Vaucluse Bowling Club.
Through its vision to restore and connect degraded seascapes within Sydney Harbour for marine life and humans to thrive, Project Restore aims to restore the endangered and functionally extinct Posidonia australis seagrass meadows, rehabilitate kelp-dominated rocky reefs, and install Living Seawall panels and Reef Pods across 10 carefully selected sites within the harbour.
Woollahra has become the area where most of the Project Restore action is taking place and we are inviting the local community to to come along and hear all about the exciting restoration work that is taking place in your local area.
In this Forum, you’ll hear about our local marine habitats, how they have been locally degraded why it is important to bring them back from the brink of extinction. We will cover our restoration plans, with details on the restoration locations, the restoration schedule, the process of implementing an innovative multi-habitat approach, and how we are monitoring the restoration sites to ensure the restoration is a success.
We will make sure we leave plenty of time for you to ask questions.
Register your attendance to secure your spot.
