Henry was an engineer in Kraków when the war broke out in September 1939, having grown up in Galicia, now part of Ukraine. He, his wife, and child survived the war, and his memoir reflects not only their story but also the broader tragedy of the 6,000,000 who were trapped and perished.
Henry began writing his story while in a displaced persons camp in Paris after the war. Years later, after migrating to Australia, he revisited his work, meticulously compiling original documents and translating his writing into Polish, eventually self-publishing it for family and friends in 1991.
Now, as acclaimed author and international lawyer Philippe Sands has said, this story deserves a wider audience. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Miriam Levy bring her grandfather’s powerful legacy to life.
