You are invited to our free NAIDOC Week Community Open Day at the beautiful Cooper Park Community Hall to celebrate First Nations Culture

Join us for a Welcome to Country, enjoy cultural music , weaving workshops, Cultural yoga walk, food and more as we celebrate the oldest continuous culture on earth.

12.00pm

We will kick off with the Cultural food tastings and fun!


12.15pm

Welcome to Country followed by a speech from the Mayor of Woollahra, Clr Richard Shields


12.30pm (1 hour)

Music Performance by Green Hand Band

Green Hand Band is a Redfern-based reggae fusion group led by Tim Gray, a Gumbaynggir / Wiradjuri man with an uber-talented group of musicians!


1.30pm (1 hour)

Weaving Workshop 1. Join Samantha Snedden who is a Dunghutti and Wiradjuri emerging artist and tap into your creative side!


1.30pm (1 hour)

Cultural Yoga Walk in Cooper Park with Jacqui Jarrett who is is a First Nations Yoga teacher and a proud Dharawal and Gumbaynggirr woman and Elder.

Experience “junga-ngarraanga miinggi” (hearing, listening, learning, feeling, thinking, understanding. Knowing from the heart.) in this wonderful opportunity to learn more about how First Nations people perceive Country, nature and our environment.


2.30pm (1 hour)

Weaving Workshop 2. Another chance to participate in Samantha Snedden’s workshop and express your creativity through weaving.
