In this workshop, designed for 13-18 year olds you'll engage with Tan’s captivating texts, including Cicada, Rules of Summer, and Tales from Outer Suburbia. Discover how Tan uses symbolism and metaphor to delve into themes of belonging, identity, and community.

Through drama techniques and reflective activities, you'll explore the rich, multidimensional worlds Tan creates, enhancing your understanding of both utopian and dystopian themes while deepening your empathetic connection to the characters. Facilitator Bio:

Kaylee Hazell is the Creative Learning Program Manager at Sydney Theatre Company and has been a Teaching Artist for over 20 years working with both primary and secondary students in and across education and theatre industries.
