City2Surf 2024

Road and lane closures and Special Event Clearways will be in place between Sydney CBD and Bondi Beach on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August 2024 for the 14km City2Surf fun run.

Up to 90,000 runners will participate, including elite wheelchair athletes. City2Surf is organised by the Ironman Group and in its 54th year of operation in its normal function.

The start area is located at Hyde Park. The start line is located on William Street just east of College Street, Darlinghurst. The event starts at 7:35am and finishes by 2pm when the last participant crosses the finish line at Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach.

The route proceeds from William Street through Kings Cross Tunnel, then follows Bayswater Road, New South Head Road, Old South Head Road, Military Road, and Campbell Parade to Queen Elizabeth Drive. View course map

Clearways

Residents located between the course and the coastline are reminded they will not be able to enter or exit the area while roads are closed. Residents in these locations wishing to leave their area during the event are reminded to relocate their vehicle to the other side of the course before roads close and cross the course by foot prior to the event starting.

Roads will be progressively reopened from Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach, after infrastructure removal and cleaning has been completed.

Special Event Clearways will be in place between 7pm Saturday 10 August and 4pm Sunday 11 August 2024. Residents are advised to check if their vehicles and other items such as trucks, boats, and trailers will be a in Special Event Clearway, and plan to relocate them prior. Motorists are advised to check signs before parking. All vehicles left in Special Event Clearways will be towed and fines apply.

Patrons attending City2Surf are advised to use public transport. The closest transport hubs to the start are St James, Museum, Town Hall, and Martin Place. The closest transport hub to the finish is Bondi Junction.
