As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Traffic Capital Works Program, Council are undertaking the installation of a shared zone at Albemarle Lane, between Albemarle Avenue and Wilberforce Avenue, Rose Bay.

Stage 2 works, involve the installation of a shared zone. The shared zone aims to improve pedestrian safety. Works include; the installation of a street print; raised thresholds; new signage and line-marking.  

To minimise impacts to the adjacent school, stage 2 work is scheduled for the Easter school holidays. Work will commence on Monday 14 April 2025 and is due for completion within 2 weeks (weather permitting).

They will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday. 

Stage 1 works, which included an upgrade to the stormwater system, to improve stormwater flow and minimise flooding, were completed in January 2025.

 

 

Update: 25 March 2025

Additional works have been added to the project at the intersection of Burrabirra Avenue and Olola Avenue. These works are now completed.

The road surface will then be re-sheeted with a new asphalt pavement on Monday 7 April 2025 (1 day - weather permitting). 


Woollahra Council have been working on drainage and road infrastructure improvements in Fitzwilliam Road and Burrabirra Avenue, Vaucluse. Referred to as Stage 1, these renewal works have delivered new footpaths, kerb and gutters, and an upgrade to the drainage in the area and are now completed.

Stage 2 works are planned for the remainder of Burrabirra Avenue, Vaucluse, between Olola Avenue and no.15 Burrabirra Avenue. The renewal work will deliver new footpaths, kerb and gutters.

Work will commence on Monday 13 January 2025. We anticipate the overall work duration will be 6 weeks, weather dependent.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and possibly 7am - 1pm on Saturday.

On completion of Stages 1 and 2, the road surface will be re-sheeted with a new asphalt pavement.

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council will be installing a Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) at Collins Avenue, Rose Bay, in front of the laneway opposite Percival Park.

The GPT will capture and remove pollutants from the existing underground stormwater pipeline, which will help to keep Rose Bay Beach and Sydney Harbour cleaner. Once installed, the GPT will not be visible.

The work is scheduled to begin in autumn, starting Monday 7 April 2025. It is expected to take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete (weather permitting). The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Following the completion of the GPT installation, Council will also renew the asphalt road pavement at Collins Avenue. Separate notifications and site signage will provide further details on this work. 

 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council is undertaking stormwater upgrade works at Dover Road, Rose Bay at the intersection with Spencer Lane.

The work is scheduled to commence on Monday 13 January 2025 and will now be completed within 6 weeks, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 3pm on Saturday.

On the completion of this work, additional stormwater upgrade works will be undertaken on Dover Road between Spencer Lane and Short Lane, Rose Bay. A separate notification letter will be distributed to residents for this project. 

 

 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council’s is undertaking footpath, kerb and gutter repairs prior to resheeting the road surface at Lamb Street and March Street, Bellevue Hill (between Victoria Road and Kambala Road).

The work is scheduled to start on Tuesday 4 March 2025 and should be completed within 3 weeks, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday. 

 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Traffic Capital Works Program, Council is undertaking the installation of a raised pedestrian crossing at Moncur Street, Woollahra (between Morrell Street and Britannia Lane). The works will improve pedestrian safety.

Works include:

  • Installation of a raised pedestrian crossing at Moncur Street, Woollahra (between Morrell Street and Britannia Lane).
  • Localised footpath, kerb and gutter upgrades.
  • Installation kerb ramps.

The work is scheduled to start on Monday 31 March 2025 and should be completed within 2 weeks, weather permitting.

The work will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 1pm on Saturday. 

 

As part of Woollahra Council’s 2024/25 Infrastructure Works Program, Council’s contractor is upgrading the stormwater system at the end of the cul-de-sac in Nelson Street, Woollahra (near Pickering Lane).

The works will include: the installation of approximately 30 lineal metres of new concrete pipes; installation of new stormwater junction pits; and replacing sections of the kerb and gutter, and the asphalt footpath.

The work is scheduled to start on Monday 17 March 2025 and should be completed within 3 weeks, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, 8am - 1pm on Saturday.

Property access will be maintained throughout the duration of works, however a small number of car parking spaces will need to be temporarily occupied to allow the project to be delivered.

As part of Woollahra Council’s Play Space Strategy 2023 Program, Council is upgrading the playground in Spring Street Reserve, Paddington.

The new playground will consist of a range of new play elements for younger children along with some fun and relaxing activity spaces for older children and adults, including upgraded landscaping and furniture.

The work is scheduled to commence on Wednesday 12 February 2025 and will be completed in 4 weeks, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.

The playground will be barricaded off for the duration of the works, to ensure the safety of workers and the public. Parking within Spring Street will also be restricted between the hours of 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday to allow the project to be delivered safely.
