Medicine
Most bush medicine is made from leaves, roots and bark of various plants. Many parts of Tea Tree were used for their inhalation and antiseptic properties and the lemon myrtle was used to combat breathing difficulties and to flavour foods.
Bracken fern was used as an antiseptic for bites, grazes and stings; pittosporum was used to treat deep wounds or bruises. Sydney Red Gum, known as a woman's tree, was used to make a body wash.
