About this venue

Location

Ground floor of the Hugh Latimer Centre
512 New South Head Road, Double Bay (enter via Sherbrooke Avenue)

Uses

Children’s birthday parties, social events, recreational activities, community groups, meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars.

Foster Park Playground is located at the rear of the venue. Hirers should note that this is a public area, and hiring of the hall does not permit exclusive use of the playground.

Please note that jumping castles, animal farms and pony rides are not permitted at this venue.

Fees and Charges

Fees and charges for Sherbrooke Hall hire only (incl. GST - valid to 30 June 2025)

Children’s Birthday Parties

 

Weekends Only:  morning session 9 - 12:30, afternoon session 1:30 - 5pm

Outside of these times the Private function rate is charged
$270 per session
Commercial / Private Functions

 

Individuals - closed functions to invited attendees only, private parties (13 years of age and over)

Businesses - all commercial businesses

All political parties and associations which support political candidates.
$130 per hour
Community / Arts / Recreation

 

Individuals - casual bookings excluding private functions and parties

Businesses – will be assessed on the following:

  • Annual turnover less than $150,000 per annum - (provide balance sheet, BAS statement, or letter from an Accountant confirming income)
  • Event must be open for members of the public to attend
  • Identification of community / social benefit (provide statement regarding benefit of activity)
  • Attendance fees must be less than commercial rates (provide list of fees and charges)
  • Must have own public liability insurance (provide certificate of currency)
$50 per hour
Not for Profit

 

Registered Charities and Not For Profit Organisations, including Educational and Religious Institutions

  • Must have an Australian Tax Office (ATO) registered not for profit status ( provide certificate)
  • Must have own public liability insurance (provide certificate of currency)
$35 per hour
12-Step programs/Playgroups

 

12-step programs and Playgroups registered with their appropriate governing body

  • Must have public liability insurance provided through governing body
$18 per hour

Additional information

Equipment and facilities available:(PDF, 432KB) Kitchen facilities including a microwave, kettle and fridge. Hall facilities include 6 x mity-lite trestle tables (Dimensions 760 x 1830 Grey Top, 740 high) and 100 x function chairs. The hall also has a built in stage.

Parking: Limited street parking is available. Small public car park, with restrictions, is located adjacent to venue.
