Draft Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Amendment No. 3) - Indoor residential amenity and subterranean habitable spaces
Summary
At its meeting of 26 November 2018, Council approved amendments to Chapter B3 General Development Controls of the Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015.
The approved Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Amendment No 3):
- Inserts a new section called B3.5.5 – Internal amenity into Chapter B3 General Development Controls. It was inserted after B3.5.4 – Acoustic and visual privacy.
- Inserts corresponding provisions into Part A: Introduction and Administration to appropriately give effect to the amendment.
The objectives of Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Amendment No 3) are to:
- ensure that rooms in a dwelling, particularly rooms that are located below natural ground level have high levels of indoor residential amenity for the health and well-being of residents and visitors,
- discourage development of unsuitable subterranean living spaces, and
- not impact on the operation of the existing volumetric excavation provisions.
Public exhibition material
Public exhibition of Draft Woollahra Development Control Plan (Amendment No. 3) was held from Wednesday 22 August 2018 to Friday 21 September 2018. Subsequently, it was re-exhibited to clarify that the proposed amendments apply to all indoor habitable spaces in dwellings, including subterranean rooms from Wednesday 26 September to Friday 26 October 2018.
